Former US President Donald Trump once remarked that Joe
Biden’s policies were driving Russia and China closer together. While this
observation carries some weight, there is another side to the story. Trump’s
own policies—particularly his transactional approach towards allies and his
confrontational stance against China—may have laid the foundation for a
different, and perhaps more consequential, alignment: one that brings India,
Russia, and China into a tentative understanding.
